Hardware Guides: Laptops, Desks and Home Office Gear

Hardware advice is usually a spec sheet with a commission attached. We look at the parts that change a working day: the keyboard, the screen, the ports, the noise and the upgrade path. Every recommendation names the trade-off and the point at which spending more stops helping.

What we look for

Every hardware guide is checked against the same standard: does the advice hold up in daily use, is the cost stated plainly, and would we recommend it to a colleague without a warning attached. When a tool or a setup falls short, the caveat goes in the guide.

Where figures matter we use vendor documentation, published pricing pages and independent standards bodies such as the W3C, then check the claims against our own tests before publishing.
